This is the comprehensive mosquito control program that we implement with all of our services. Executing all aspects of IMM allows us to better manage and maintain a safe, mosquito-free environment for our clients and their properties.
Mosquito Control
Mosquito control is what we do. We use an integrated approach; it’s called IMM (integrated mosquito management). This means we use a variety of ways to gain control, including surveillance, larviciding, adulticiding, source reduction and education.
Surveillance
We use surveillance to see what species of mosquitoes are in the area. The 3 most common in Atlanta include: Aedes, Culex and Anopheles. This information helps us target our control efforts.
Larviciding
Larviciding is performed to attack the mosquito at the weakest point in its life cycle and to stop adult emergence. As properties are checked, they are recorded in our customer’s account. These sites are treated throughout the mosquito season. Control is achieved by using larvicidal oils, mono-molecular films and biological products.
Adulticiding
Adulticiding uses ultra-low-volume (ULV) ground equipment to reduce the number of adult mosquitoes. We decide what areas to spray based on our surveillance information. We normally spray permethrin, a product that does not last long in the environment.
Source Reduction
Asian Tiger mosquitoes only breed in a container holding water, so we find them and prefer to teach residents about mosquito biology and prevention. This greatly improves the effectiveness of our spray missions.
Education
We provide information on our website and links to other pages like https://www.mosquito.org/ for our clients to learn more about mosquitoes.
